Q: How does TattooNomad.com select artwork and artists?
A: TattooNomad.com receives many quality submissions. Unfortunately, we are only able to accept a limited number of them. We like to offer our customers a wide assortment of options, so unique and creative designs are a plus. Also keep in mind that tattoo designs are commercial artwork and as such they are subject to very specific guidelines.
All artwork should be tattoo-friendly. This means it needs clear and distinct lines. A sketch type drawing is not acceptable. No two black lines should be closer than 2 mm; therefore no lightly colored or blank space within a darker area should be less than 2 mm in diameter.
Line drawings are required for all tattoo artwork. These line drawings, also known as stencils, act as blueprints for the tattoos. Without them, the tattoos could end up looking very different from what was expected. Please pay careful attention to ensure that your stencil drawings are clean, clear, and precise. Stencil quality is extremely important to the selection process
Q: Are any tattoo designs unacceptable?
A: We cannot sell any artwork that violates Canadian or International copyright law. We do not sell artwork that promotes violence toward any living thing or toward any group of people. In keeping with this, we will not sell artwork that we perceive to be racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, anti-ethnic, pro-Nazi, supremacist, misogynist, or any other artwork that condones violence toward any living thing or group of people.
Q: What is the process for selling my artwork on TattooNomad.com?
A: As the artist, you need to guarantee that all the artwork you have submitted is original and that you have the rights to it. You will retain the copyright to your artwork and are free to sell you tattoo designs anywhere except on the Internet or through a competing tattoo design distributor. You will receive a percentage of all net sales of your tattoo designs. This percentage is dependent on several factors, including the popularity of your design. Please note that we reserve the right to change the percentage at our discretion. TattooNomad.com pays all expenses incurred in the sale of the artwork, including art preparation; Web site inclusion, maintenance, and updates; marketing costs; duplication costs; and shipping and handling costs.
